Poetry is dear. You need time to read it.

The  speed of light is nothing
to the speed of time.
People, places, events
careen out of blackness
    and back in again.

  • Plea in Winter

Oh cruel February! Your grey light

    hides spring under the snow.

    Warm me with gentleness

    that you keep hidden.

    Let the sun reflect hope

    for days filled in primrose.

    Send all that I need

    to endure this frozen earth.

Let your sin shine on icy crystals

and sparkle in a child's eyes.
